Hello, I need some advice. I am a senior with a 2.9 GPA and 31 ACT. I was admitted into ASU’s business program at Tempe and was given a scholarship that would make the total cost $31,000 out of state- from New Jersey. However, if I am admitted to SDSU, my first choice, the cost would be around $37,000 out of state. My plan is to live in socal after graduation so would living in San Diego be worth the money, and which school is better for business?
San Diego State is a better school than Arizona State, particularly for business. If you plan on living in SoCal after graduation, then yes, SDSU is totally worth the money. In any case, SDSU is worth the added expense.
Would I be eligible for a scholarship? Also, would it be possible to get in-state tuition after a couple of years?
SDSU gives very few scholarships for OOS applicants. Also if you come to CA for the purpose of an education, you will be paying full costs all 4 years. You need to come to CA 1 year prior to starting school, show you are independent of your parents, get a drivers license, pay rent etc… To establish yourself as a resident.
This link from the UCB website explains in good detail what is required to establish residency.

Can you pay full costs? If not, then SSDU is unaffordable. If yes, then you just need to wait for an acceptance.
