ASU vs University of Utah - EE

I am in Washington state and was think about going out of state for the experience along with decent education. ASU and U of U are probably he best 2 schools available in the WUE program where I can pay cheap tuition. I applied to both and got in, now I gotta decide which is better for EE. I know U of U is tier 1 school but I heard ASU engineering program is stronger, but I am getting conflicting answers.

I also got into University Washington - Bothell campus, but the program is so new I don't think Ill get a good education, they have very limited resources and my buddy said its been mainly boring book work. Nothing hands on really. UW Seattle my top pick but I doubt I will get in with a 3.6.

So anyways what you think guys?

I agree that both ASU and UofU are better than Bothell. ASU and UofU are very different though, in size, in “vibe”… have you been able to visit and do an overnight during "admitted students " days? You really should, if you can.

Thanks for the reply and wasn’t planning on visiting both but maybe that’s the best choice… Asu is huge right?

yes ASU is HUGE. You really should visit - see if there are “admitted student days” during your Spring Break, or see if your school allows you to take a few days off to visit (most HS would allow seniors to do so).

ASU only offers the WUE tuition discounts at the subsidiary campuses (Downtown, Polytechnic, West) that appear to be mainly for non-traditional students, not the main Tempe campus.

Hmmm didn’t know that thanks…well I’ll wait until I see my awards for fin aid. Still a possibility.
