So, I've basically seen no mention of this test on cc and I was wondering what sort of importance it holds. Its compulsory at my school and I thought it was sorta ridiculous. I got my scores back in December and did really well (military index score 95/100), but a lot of my friends bombed it, one got a five. Now I get endless emails from marines, west point, air force etc (not my interest but I highly respect all who serve our country)... So what are your guys experiences with this test?

Well it’s actually out of 99…I got a 97 and the whole school wants me to enlist because that was the highest score. My close friend got a 15 and she was really embarrassed. Our schools ROTC teacher unintentionally put her on blast during the score assembly. He was making up numbers but they happened to match and people thought he was referring to us.

I thought the interest inventory we took after was pretty cool,I already know what I want to do so it didn’t tell me much, but it really helped out my friends.
bump…

I remember getting something like a 96, I did really well on the mathematical-based sections, where I got around the 98~99%tile (then again, this isn’t a big surprise since I got a 33 on my ACT math for the first time without prepping and a 750 on my SAT math with as much prepping as the ACT.) But the thing is, I pretty much bombed the mechanical/auto portions (by bombing, I mean CC-bombing which meant I fell in the 75~77%tile, but as before, it was no surprise, since I don’t have a car.)

Though, these %tiles tend to be higher than the SAT since pretty much everyone takes them, not to mention that you never see kids prepping for the ASVAB or attempting to retake it.

I got basically high 80s through high 90s on every part except auto and shop, on that i got a 16(go me!), but somehow i got a 98 on mechanical comprehension.
