Ok so I’m getting extremely stressed out because McGill is the only university to which i really want to attend!!! There are moments when i think i’ll get in easily and other moments (most of the time) where I fear for my future. So idk i wanted to ask other people in order to see a 3rd parties opinion from people that don’t know me. So here it is, I’m an ontario student studying in the IB programe. My marks are:
Bio: 94
Environmental Chem: 92
Math: 89
English: 85 (tbh our teacher made this mark up, he hadn’t recorded any marks since it’s a de-semestered course so he just made the mark up)
Chem: Pending (2nd semester)
Physics: Pending
Those were my midterm marks (I fear for what’ll happen since Grd. 11 Physics was 78 for me, although this year has been by far better). I know my Bio mark and Env Chem mark will go up since i’ve gotten around 98’s on all the test’s we’ve done since then. My math mark will probably drop 1-3% (depending if we have a test before the report cards since i kinda shit the bed on the last one [didn’t do bad but it wasn’t as high as i would’ve wanted]
I applied to McGill’s Chemical Engineering program and their required grade was 94.5%, for chemistry i’m probably going to get 97-100 for midterm (that’s my forte class, and for physics ill probably get 95+). I know my math mark and english mark will be below the 94.5 indwell bring the mark down…I guess what I’m asking is do you guys think i have a good chance to get in? Do you think being in IB will help me if I’m below the 94.5%? I’m freaking out…they don’t begin looking at ontario kids during March…and i just looked over my online application & for citizenship i put Mexico instead of Mexican…they’ll think im stopid and not accept me…ARGH! (Btw no sugar coating please, I don’t find sugar coating helpful, be as cold as you possible can)
