Mcgill admissions help!alums!prospective students!

In my search for the "perfect" college, i've really been setting my eye on McGill--- however, due to the lack of high grades in grade 11 i'm really worried that I might get rejected?! Before people would say it's "easy to get in, hard to stay in.." but the admissions process seems more and more selective every year. Im currently in IB right now, so of course having an B would be respectable as its the hardest course one can take in the US right no, but my lowest grades are in Math and Science-- I'm applying to Arts and Sciences, Life Sciences, or Nursing...

Chemistry SL: 79
Pre-Calculus: 79
everything else is in the high 80s and 90s-- i'm working hard towards high SAT scores and i'm taking Physics, Ecological/Molecular Biology, Math II, French, and Chemistry SAT subject tests.

I have excellent EC's in my opinion, but.. mcgill doesn't regard that?! My GPA is a 3.9 at the time.

36 views and no response?..hmm…

I am a bit confused - I admit I am not very familiar with the IB system. Is your 3.9 GPA weighted or unweighted? The scores of 79 you list for Chem and PreCalc would equate to a grade of C+ in a typical U.S. grading system so if that is the case I am not sure how your GPA could be 3.9. An unweighted GPA of 3.9 is competitive for McGill, along with strong standardized test scores. Have you taken the SAT or ACT yet?

I haven’t taken the ACT; the problem here is that my SAT score was in the 600 range each sub-score the first time I took it this May–I believe that I can raise it to 700-800 each though because I’ve been studying non-stop. As for the subject tests, I just finished Pre-AP Physics and IB Chem., then I took 2 years of Bio/AP and Pre-AP freshman year… I think I could give an in-depth review and score high??! As for IB apparently we’re all top 10% , BUT those 79’s really bother me!–i think that could block my acceptance to the science department?HELP ASAP
