At my school, honors classes aren't weighted

I go to a magnet school so all of the classes there is either honors or AP or beyond-AP. Because of that, honors classes aren't weighted. The only weighted classes are AP or beyond-AP. It is a disadvantage because my GPA is lower compare to others from regular schools even though I take more rigorous classes than most. Would colleges know that?

Do honor classes at your school weighted?

I go to a public school an only rank is weighted - GPA isn’t. Which is a really bizarre system if you ask me.

yes, colleges would know

in any case, you can’t change the system anyway so there’s no use in whining about it

um, it’s not a disadvantage. My school doesn’t weigh ANY honors classes either, but we still have kids going to the top schools. Many colleges recalculate your GPA anyway when you apply, so it how your school calculates GPA really means nothing.

same here… it sucks but what can you do? focus on something that you have control over!!

I’m not whining just asking. I don’t know how anyone would “whine” about something like this. I’m merely asking for knowledge sake people.

Thanks for the answers. I’ll rest assured now.

Our school weights honors classes pursuant to the UC/CSU guidelines. So some are weighted, some aren’t.
