Hey, I'm a junior, but I'm thinking ahead! At what time(s) of year is it most common to get senior pics done? How many changes of clothes do you get to use? What about different settings (studio vs. outdoors, etc.)? Just curious

usually the summer before your senior year
the amnt of changes and different setting depends on who takes your pics and how much you pay

usually there is a studio that does your school's senior pics. call them for more info.

Yes, summer before senior year; your school should give you a flyer/packet of info and you make an appointment on when to go

I just got mine done three days ago, so it's really when you decide to go. My school has a studio they use for the yearbook, but I didn't like it, so I just payed $8 when they came to our school and got the headshot and then went to a studio I like and got my pictures taken there.

I was going to have mine taken the summer before, then found out the price they were asking ($300 super-package, $10 basic package advertised but not honored). When they came to my school, I was second in line. A technical glitch lead the photographer to dismiss many students, promising to return the next day. I left, expecting a retake, but he wound up fixing the problem and finished most people's shots. The retake day was November 2'nd, I believe. I took five absences to get out the vote with America Coming Together in New Hampshire, so I missed that too. In the end, I had a grotesque photo of myself against a wall of my house submitted to the year book. It wasn't my choice, but it was better than nothing.

In the end, realize this: It really doesn't matter. At all. It's simply not significant.

at our school, they tell you to do it during the summer (before senior year starts). however, some people are lazy and wait until the eyarbook deadlien to do it. tsk tsk... on the subject, does anyone actually like his/her senior pic?

Ugh.. I had to pay 150 for like 6 pictures.

I didn't buy anything except for some fee. standing/posing fee?
I figured i'd look in the yearbook for it.

samwise - thats cheap, the ones that my school go to is 300-500 for senior pictures lol.

Ours were due October 1st for yearbook. We don't have a school photographer, and we're allowed to submit any photo we like (goofy or serious, professional or snapshot) as long as it's in good taste and not indecent. I had mine taken around the beginning of September. The photographer I went to had no limit on clothing changes (I changed about 5 times, I think), and told me when she wanted me to change. I brought a bunch of clothes and she told me what she wanted me to put on. My studio pictures were alright, but I ended up buying only ones that were taken outside. The lighting was gorgeous, and they came out really well. It's worth it to have them done outside, though at my photographer there wasn't an extra cost. She was expensive, but she didn't nickel and dime you to death like many photographers do ("It's an extra $20 for going outside!" "$15 per clothing change!"). It ended up being a lot of fun, and I got pictures that I really like.
