Has anyone out there been recruited as an athlete by Brown? they don’t have a recruitment form as far as I can find like most colleges… so what did you do? Email the coach? It’s a little late for me to be thinking about this as I am a senior and already sent in my app, but I figured it was worth a shot as I only just started considering continuing playing into college and it won’t be the end of the world if i can’t (I play volleyball by the way).

I was rejected from stanford SCEA, and am 98% sure Brown is now my top choice. It’s kind of nice being able to look at another school now and not find myself comparing it to Stanford… in reality I’m starting to lean a lot towards Brown instead of Stanford (even though I was rejected, but you know what I mean :)).

Someone from my school last year got recruited for Brown basketball. I believe that they usually come to your school, but besides, the recruitment season is pretty much over.

Take the direct approach and email the coach. However, as art noted, the recruiting is just about over. Were you recruited by other D1 coaches? If not, you may not be D1 material (in their opinion, which is all that counts in this game)

It's currently an NCAA dead period so no recruiting for another couple of weeks. However, most D1 rosters for this fall are likely set. Coaches are talking to high school juniors now. If you applied to any D3 schools, those coaches still might be interested.

Most Brown coaches encourage their recruited athletes to apply early decision--that is when the coaches have the most influence on the fate of the application.

i did in soccer but then i rescinded my verbal...i emailed the coach at brown a while ago (junior year)...and then my coach followed up and the coach came and watched me play...I'd suggest doing something like that...but GoBlueAlumMom and Zannerina are right... a lot of DI rosters are already full with ED and unless your like a standout player or top player that hasn't decided on a school yet then there's not much likelihood of even being walk-on..so i doubt it'd help in admissions but if you really wanna play talk to the coach about a tryout
