I was just wondering what I would need to get my mile time down to in order to get recruited by an ivy league or other top school. Im a soph and my gpa is around a 4.4. If I were to get my mile time down to around 4:20 lets say (I got a 4:55 as a freshman, I dont know if 4:20 is a realistic goal), would I be able to get accepted by a top school?

You may have to get even a little lower than that (like 4:10ish)...but 4:20 could definitely cut it. I'm not 100% though.

But do you think a 4:20 along with a strong gpa would be enough?

possibly...the county champion (where i live) had a 4:25...i think 4:20 is actually quite good...so you may want to scratch that 4:10

4:20-4:25 is good enough when they recruit athletes they don't care much for ur gpa. If ur a sophmore then with enough practice u can get there

4:25 is amazing. A guy from my school had like a 3.9 or 4.0, one of the top gpa in the school ran also a 4:20 or something ilke that and he's going to the big green.

Combined with an excellant GPA/Test Scores, a 4:25/4:20 should be fine at an Ivy-Level school.
