Some people (current college students, guidance counselor) have recommended me to send in an additional resume with my application. My question is, what exactly do I put on this resume? Just elaborate on my EC's? Elaborate how much? Should I include every EC I've ever done, or just the ones that are the most important to me (though I've already listed these on the common app section)?

Also, what's a good format to put them in?

If anyone has a sample resume, even a fake one- doesn't matter just so I can see the format, that you could show me, that would be excellent.

For one, applicants are often discouraged to send in an additional resume. Some colleges allow it, but some, like Stanford, prefer that you not. So if you don't need one, don't bother with one. Many, if not most, don't. Why? Because most don't need any more space.

These "additional resumes" tend to be just lists of more meaningless ECs and awards.

If you do attach one, use it to elaborate on ECs/awards. Now, that doesn't mean write an essay; but perhaps explain something about it that couldn't be explained on the application.

I would highly recommend you choose your most significant activities. Colleges don't want to see a laundry list of activities you don't care much about.

On my applications, for example, I explained a few activities/awards in paragraph form (in the "additional info" section). So it turned out to be a bunch of small paragraphs -- not bulleted lists with little information, etc. but actual additional info.
