Should i send a reusme with descriptions of what my EC's are and our accomplishments in those EC's? is this what most people do?

Edit: read the question wrong.

Most applications already ask for your ECs already, and what your accomplishments are. Sending another resume in would be redundant in most cases.

If they don't require such, ask (call/email/look at website) for their policy on such.

Joethemole, it really depends on the school's application and on your list. Often, students using the Common Application find the EC table very limiting since only a certain number of activities may be listed and there is little space to provide explanations (e.g., explaining what exactly you did as the President of XYZ Club). If the college allows it, you may type "See attached list or resume" in the space and attach a resume which should be only 1 to 2 pages outlining the most important of the EC's and awards. Some colleges do not allow attached resumes. Check the websites. Also, if you can adequately explain your EC's in the space provided, do NOT include an unnecessary resume.

and if you happen to use brag sheet is it OK to leave the field in the commonapp blank? (especially if applying online; where do you attach a thing like that on the online app?)

our school strongly recommends us to send one, actually my counsler didn't send out my application until i made one.
Personally, i find it reduntant, b/c all the information is already on your transcript and application.
But will it hurt my chances if i send one?

bump up. yes this is for common app

so should i just give my counselor one for her to stuff it in the envelops?

it depends on what your activities are.
I needed to send an extra resume, about two pages in length, just explaining some of my activities because it was simply impossible to explain it in the space provided.
On the common app, they ask you to fill out the little chart even if you're sending a resume.

There's an additional info box on the common app that has a very high limit on words, I wrote about 530 words in it explaining my EC's, so....
