Attempting to start over, in a sense. But how much will this affect me?

So, long story short I attended college in Hawaii for 4 semester. Did well enough in class until my final semester when some life issues arose and I had to leave the state. Ended up taking 3 F's, which decimated my GPA. I'm currently living in NV and plan on attending CSN as a new student with the intent of working on all prereqs for a nursing program there, and then transfer to the school of my choice to get my BSN.

So my question is this, I know when I transfer to a university to pursue a BS i'm going to have to transfer both my UHMC transcipt, and my CSN transcript. So if I maintain a high GPA from CSN, when transferring both transcripts how badly would my UHMC transcripts affect my cumulative GPA? I don't plan on trying to get into a highly regarded school, so the cumulative GPA requirement for admission would be around 2.0-2.5, i'm just wondering how critically schools will look at my UHMC GPA when considering me for admission. If any other additional information is needed to help answer i'll try to supply it to the best of my ability.

Yes, you have to send transcripts from each college you attended. I don’t think any new college would base its GPA on your old schools’ grades. I’ve only seen that you start over with a GPA based solely on your grades at the new school. You might want to contact your old school and see if you can get those Fs turned into Withdrawals (you’d have to document the disruptive life circumstances, likely).
