Withdrawing from UC, and starting over at CC?

Hello, I've had some family health problems that had caused my GPA to lower and ultimately lose the financial aid that I have currently. I currently withdrew from a UC since I do not have the money to pay for tuition right now.

Do I have the option to start over with a clean slate at a CC and transfer to a different school, or will my GPA just continue off of my UC's GPA?

Hi Sammy, I withdrew from a UC because I didn’t like the school. (This was after my first quarter). I don’t think you have the option to transfer without sending your UC credits over.

Is this even without going to another UC? and will only the credits transfer, or will my GPA transfer as well?

Well here’s how it worked for me:

I left a UC school after my first quarter because I hated it. I had 8 units total because I dropped a 4 unit class (would have had 12 total). I received a B for each class. I went to a CC and now I am applying to transfer to a bunch of liberal arts colleges. I had to send ALL transcripts from my college career including the UC one. My GPA on my CC transcript is a 3.75 and my GPA in my UC transcript is lower. I think they look more at your recent college work. However, I still think they consider your grades at all the colleges you’ve attended.

And it depends for the credits/GPA transfer. Since UC’s run on the quarter system and other schools usually don’t, your credits might not transfer over correctly.

one last question, will I be starting my GPA over at my new university?

Yes, your GPA will start anew at the new school.
