Hi, i’m currently a freshman at san francisco state university who is trying to transfer to san diego state university. I’m trying to make sure that i’m doing the things i need to be doing in order to eventually transfer to sdsu ,so if any of the students at san diego state university who transferred from another csu could help me verify and plan out my transfer that would be amazing.
This is my checklist of things i need to do to transfer to sdsu, please tell me if anything needs to be added to my checklist.
1.Accrue 30+ credits at SFSU that are transferable to sdsu
2. Transfer to community college to accrue the next 30 g.e credits and fulfill my majors pre-requisites
3. Get a high gpa, Currently i have a 3.94 gpa ( just finished first semester )
4. Apply to SDSU.
Sorry if i seem a little paranoid, i just really don’t want to $#%* this up,
I know it’s not necessarily answer to your questions, but I want to share my experience.
I started with a community college (in Bay Area) for 3 years, then transferred to SFSU, completed 15 units (had all A’s in my classes) at SFSU of my upper devisions classes. Soon after, I had to relocate back to SD, and was rejected from SDSU with 3.61 GPA, but was accepted into CSULB. My major is Business Adm
Hi there, I’m currently an SFSU student that applied to SDSU for Fall 2016 but I haven’t heard back. I however did get accepted to Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona, and CSULB. It isn’t necessary to transfer to a CC your second year unless you really want to. I’m not sure if being CC standing will increase your admissions decisions, but I do know that is the case for student applying to UC’s. All I have for advice is to keep that GPA up. Especially the Golden Four that seems to matter the most. Other than that, make sure you have some extra curriculars.
SDSU prioritizes locals from their community colleges, i.e. (Miramar/Mesa/City/Grossmont/Cuyamaca/Southwester). t you are attending one of those colleges, when applying to SDSU it would give you more of an advantage but it does not guarantee admission.
