Basically my junior year was full of a TON of absences and tardies (all excused), but my courseload was still pretty full. I just found it easy to get work done faster at home, and I liked to sleep in...

Anyway, I got a 4.0 UW for the year because I'm a very independent learner. However, my attendance record would look terrible to colleges...because second semester, I literally would miss at least one day or 1/2 day per week. It didn't affect my grades, but....do colleges see attendance records? Do they care if you were absent a lot if it didn't affect your grades?

I think they would probably think of it as some sort of personal/family problem or illness, and would be impressed that you still managed to get a 4.0 UW. Not that it's an advantage, but I don't think it'd be a disadvantage either.

If they don't show up on your transcript then the schools won't see it at all. No worries. They don't have time to request attendance records for each student that applies.

Yeah, don't worry about the attendance. Actually, you seem pretty similar to me. I missed a ton of school last year because I just liked sleeping in, or thought going to school some days was slightly unproductive... I'm guessing colleges don't have time to look at attendance records, just your grades...which are good. So don't worry about it. I hadn't even thought about this until now ;)

Chillll out. I had amazing relationships with my teachers last year. Sure, they'd give me a hard time, but I'm pretty prominent in my school with leadership and whatnot.

Plus a lot of my teachers appreciated the fact that I turned things in EARLY to be graded so I didn't need to show up on due dates.
