Hello,
I was recently invited to the BSAI Invitational at Duke but, while I would love to attend, I unfortunately have prior commitments. Will not attending affect my chance of admission? I know being invited is itself a “likely letter” but the fact that they want us to RSVP by the 21st, before decisions are mailed out, worried me.
Please let me know what you think or may know from experience!

Looking at the Duke threads from past years, I saw that the night you arrive is when they tell everyone at dinner that they were admitted, meaning that everyone invited is accepted. Not attending will not affect you chance of admission in any way. They’ll only change their mind if, from now to decision day, you get straight Ds or rob a bank. You will be just fine!

@dominoesniall Thanks so much! I was just confused by why they only told people who actually attended that they were accepted and not just everyone who was invited. What a weight off my shoulders haha. Congrats to you too and good luck!!
Congratulations on your acceptance to Duke. If you can’t attend the BSAI event, try to make it to one of the Blue Devil Days, you will really get a chance to see the wonderful opportunities at Duke.
