Attending College Lectures As a High Schooler?

I’m thinking about asking some professors at a local university this summer if I can their classes not for credit but just for fun, and I have a few questions.

  1. Do you think professors would allow me to attend their classes? Or do you think they would not allow me to do so for free (even though I’m getting no credit from it)?

  2. What do you think college admissions boards would think of this? Would this seem impressive or somewhat uninteresting?

Colleges usually have rules about auditing classes. There’s sometimes a fee.

That being said the professor could allow you if you ask, as they can have guests attend classes, usually.

Admissions boards will not be overly impressed if you audit classes.

The reason you should do this is because you’re interested in the material.

I’d say almost always.

Agreed.

Thank you for your help.
