Attention all AP Euro!

okay, so I copied the apush thread.

What are you guys using for a textbook and where are you so far?

Okay... my textbook is The Western Heritage Since 1300, Ninth Edition, AP Edition.

We are on Reniassance right now... test in the end of September.

A History of Western Society Since 1300, 7th Edition.

Haha we're on Renaissance too...no idea when our test is...

It'd be interesting to see all these books...they probably say about the same thing.

A history of Western Society 6th edition
Finishing Renaissance on Thur. AHHHHH TEST

The Western Heritage Seventh Edition
and some other books..
Sophie's World, and World lit only by fire

my history class is in ACE program which means the score in my history class goes directly to my college grade...it is transferable at any colleges...

wow ninth edition.... i guess my school is poor...

Western Civilization by Jackson J. Spielvogel

A History of Western Society, 8th edition (some in my class have 6th or 7th though).

Um school hasn't started yet but I think I'm supposed to read some Renaissance stuff soon...

same book. we started school a month ago so we just finished chpt. 16.
forget what's about though.
a chapter a week...test every friday...FUN FUN FUN!

Ap Euro Was A ing *!

Okay... well we basically all have the same book... just different editions...

Hmm... we have 9th edition (brand new... copyright date for 2007) and it is AP edition which is pretty cool. It has practice ap questions at the end of each chapter and a practice DBQ for each chapter. Buying it off my school was pretty cheap... only $68.00...

I had borrowed the old book (8th edition) for the summer and it actually said more. The new edition I have now (according to my teacher) has 150 less pages... yay!

Do you guys have a document book with primary scource? Mine is called Sources of the Western Tradition Volume II 3rd edition.

"Western Civilization by Jackson J. Spielvogel"

I used that book last year for my Western Civ class...I kind of wish I knew AP Euro existed then, so I could have looked into taking the test.

^ I think I might have used that for my Civ class too... it doesn't go into as much depth as the one I have this year though.

I took it a few years ago... ours was kind of a peachy color with a picture of some famous painting of a girl with a hat on on the cover.
Ringing any bells...?

HMMM... was it like a burgundy???? and had Girl with a pearl earring... vermeers painting????

I can't figure out if the person on my book's cover is a guy or girl... :p

that's the one, Lindsey!

Yeah I find out thursday, my first class.

I have that book too! It has that picture of this guy wearing a ridiculously huge hat and a lady holding up stomach like shes pregnant, but really is just holding up the extra layers of fabric to symbolize weath, right?

by the way, THANK YOU for starting this thread! I'm taking AP Euro this year and it is soooo confusing and difficult. I mean, I'm not really the type of person who would even consider taking this course so I'm starting to second guess my intelligence and whether or not I should actually be taking this class. Is it just me? Or is this class suppose to be this difficult?

We're almost done with the renaissance. We're going to have a test soon and I am so lost. Can anyone explain to me how the renaissance started, why it was specifically in Florence, Italy, and how will affect the reformation "period." I know thats like a lot to answer, sorry- like I said, I am so lost.

We just started the Reformation of the Christian Church (So Exciting)

yeah. we use The Western Heritage 8th Edition. my teacher said when he saw the 9th edition, he decided against using it because of the lack of some information. i guess it's shorter and cuts around some areas. we had a summer packet that was pre-modern european history, basically geography, greeks, romans, and the crusades. extremely hard test, only 2 /80 got an A, the majority Ds. but now he says to forget that information because it means nothing to the course and the only reason he had us do it is to have a starting point for the course instead of just jumping into the Renaissance. We finished Renaissance friday, DBQ (take-home) tomorrow, and test on wednesday. yay fun!
