Did everyone accepted get a bunch of emails now that they've been accepted to the university? I've received like three different emails congratulating me on my acceptance and discussing either my interest in medicine, or in my chosen major, or just to welcome a fellow Texan. Not many colleges take THAT much interest within a span of a few days to make your admission such a big deal, and though I'm sure it's no big deal, I really like that they keep you pumped up about the university :)

soon a local parent of a current student will call to welcome you and your parents as well (and attempt to answer any questions you have - and leave their # in case questions arise later). The attention and caring does not stop even after enrolled - the school is GREAT that way. Much diff't from the school my other D goes to.

Yeah. Except they think I'm interested in Chinese for some reason, but it's actually Japanese (I've been taking it for 4 years, studied abroad)...so I got this email about this program tailored to those interested in Chinese, and I'm just like -___-

Oh well scribbler. At least they didn't think it was Russian or Swahili.

haha that made me laugh out loud :)
They are definitely a unique and caring school, loving it :)

If you haven't already, you should get a call from a current student.

I know! I just got two emails from them, one becuase of some trouble with my admissions packet, and another that explained a few majors I could take on the pre-med track. It makes it seem sooo close. I mean, I knew I would go to college, but now its like,I'm actually going to college!

and hi acolombianp28! its cool that I won't be the only Texan there!

Yeah, definitely! Where in Texas are you from?

I haven't gotten one e-mail like that yet, haha. If you want attention, no school will ever beat UMN-Twin Cities. I get an average of a call a week.

Random note- I know TONS of people from Texas here.

i received an email from some political science professors (intended major) and a call from a freshmen volunteering at the admissions office, inviting me to the multicultural weekend even though the RSVP deadline has passed. i've gotten so much junk mail from them since the beginning of the school year... it's kind of weirdly desperate. and irritating. the amount of paper they've wasted on applicants seems kind of sad to me :(

@ acolombianp28:
houston!! u?

smiley - you are definitely going to college, lol. And a great one. Enjoy every minute of it.

Oh cool! Did you apply to Rice, too, since it's right there? I live in a little suburb of Dallas called Plano! I definitely get what you're saying about ACTUALLY going to college...I've been thinking about going to college since sophomore year so it seems a little surreal, in a good way... :)

WashU has been notably organized with communication since this whole application process began, yet I have received neither additional emails nor a phone call.

^You should shortly- the student time slots haven't started yet, I believe (sometime next week?)

And the parent callers have until 4/10 to finish making their calls.....

i got a phonecall last night asking me if i was "still going." my mother got it and i was at work, but i'm not sure if they were talking about visiting or attended... and i've not committed to either one! the woman on the phone was apparently quite rude to my mother and didn't speak very good english. i'm wondering what this is all about. :(
