What can we send to Stanford to supplement our application? Can we send new essays? Are we limited to the Update Form? Can we send supplementary material? I really want to get in to Stanford, so I'm trying to make the most of this opportunity, but I'm just not sure where to draw the line.

i would like to know the same.

I second this motion.

too bad no one's answering us. sadface.

I guess no one else knows either. Uhoh.

Btw, Kareniscreepy, it's nice to have interaction with you. You are a Stanford Forum celebrity. haha

how is that?

Well, maybe not a celebrity per se. But I definitely recognize your screen name. I just meant you were well known/recognizable.

hey kareniscreepy, what school do you go to? I live in the east bay also. maybe we go to the same school! This is disregarding the fact that the East Bay covers a lot of cities, but shrug who knows? :)

ahhhh, i see. well, thank you =). i'm not actually creepy, i hope people know haha. or maybe a little. but not the predator kind.

darn, it would be nice to be a celebrity =)

people please tell us what we can and can't send in our updates!

hahaha. american high in fremont. how about you? aside from stanford of course =), lucky...

aaah, I live in Pleasanton. Closer than oakland or something though, right? ;) I'm crossing my fingers for all of you, though. I hope I get to meet the majority (hopefully all) of you at Admit Weekend!!! :)

I called admissions finally! They said that you can send whatever you want with the exeption of things that would replace your already existing file (for example, new essays.) Nothing in your file can be removed, and the only exeptions to this are SAT scores (obviously) and faxed changes to them (if you made a mistake and said you were president of a club when you aren't, or something.) Other than that, it's looking like we can send in any kind of supplement, etc that we want. My personal advice is not to send an additional recommedation though, unless you feel like it's really special.

THANK YOU! some advice then, please? so last summer i interned at a pharmaceutical company, and i briefly mentioned it in one of my essays, in the work section, and in the "describe your summers" section. so i think that if i talk mroe about that in my update, it'll help my chances of getting in. only....you said no new essays? so what if i merely send an informal discourse about it? and uhhh...if you think that would be fine, how would i go about doing that without trying to sound intellectual for stanford? =/

I think that would be fine, as long as it isn't too lengthy.

or you could just bring it up in your interview-Good Luck!

stanford doesn't offer interviews. :)

...Stanford doesn't offer interviews. Get out the the Stanford forum, bud! j/k sort of. :)

hahahahaha. thanks guys, i guess i'll mention it, but be really brief...

barberconcerto, was that directed towards me or APOL?

Do I need to arrange for an interview?
No. Stanford does not require, nor do we even offer, interviews.
