Attention String/Piano players

Some of you may remember me babbling about forming a quartet around January. Well, here I am again. I checked the Performing Art Groups at Princeton and as far as I know, there is no string ensemble group. So, quartet or trio or whatever. I call upon anyone interested and has some skills. I'm a violin player, and I've been in a quartet for two years of my high school, and it was more fun than anything I've ever done with my violin. Pleeeaaasse let me know if you're interested. Thanks.

I play the violin too, but I'm not sure if I will continue it because the past year of orchestra really killed my interest. If there's any way to rekindle it, it's a possiblity that I might play again. I've never played in a real quartet though, but my skills are definitely enough I think. You might want to say what your name is and how you can be reached.

Thanks for the reply. How about this. Anyone interested send me a private message on CC, and I'll write back with my name and number. And alltheway, I know orchestra isn't always so much fun, but quartet is an entirely different experience in my opinion. The way I hope it'll go is with not too much obligation/stress, but with certain responsibility when we've got a project. Now, the reason I say I'm looking for someone with some skills is because the more skills each player has, the less practice time we need. We pick the music. We rehearse whenever, and perform occasionally, and if people like us, we'll start getting gigs. I'm sure the pton music library will have PLENTY of music for us to try. Ever listened to Shostakovich Quartet No. 8? My personal favorite. So, interested?

Orbit_J, you may be interested in this class. I believe it is given each Spring semester and can be taken twice for credit during your time at Princeton. If you can get a good group together in the Fall, you can audition for the Spring. Below is the information that was posted for last Spring's course:

aww man I want to be in a woodwind quartet or a clarinet choir SOO BADLY. i couldn't get one together in high school but I'd like to do some hardcore chamber music in college. yay

Hey.
I'm a piano player.
I'm very interested in forming some sort of chamber group, maybe a trio with a violin and a cello or something.
As to my level of 'skill', I have absolutely no official evidence in any way; I play largely for my own entertainment.
So we'll have to see when we meet in September.
