I applied to SHA and will soon have interview.
Should i go totally formal and just wear black skirt, white blouse and a blazer
or can i go more stylish and add some colors or like studs to collars?

I'm asking this because I think i saw a post that said interviewers for hospitality industries look more for the style factor than in other industries. Although it was about job interviews, wouldn't it apply to college too since the alumni are currently in the industry??

Hotel school interviews typically require business professional attire. You may end up getting a chill alumni that doesn’t really care, but the standard is business professional. I don’t think they really care about a “style” factor. They just want to see a professional person with a passion for the hospitality industry.

I wore a suit to my alumni interview. The impression that I got from Cornell and the interviewer beforehand was that it would be a very formal, business-style interview, and this proved to be largely true. It was very different from other, more casual, “let’s have a conversation” interviews I have had. That being said, adding your own personal style is never a bad thing, as long as it does not detract from your professionalism.
