The Elliott School released their annual report for the 2005-2006 academic year. The report has great information and really interesting highlights of ESIA. Check it out at http://www.gwu.edu/~elliott/news/annualreport.html.

650 math
670 verbal

woops..haha.

Hm, well my Verbal is 110 points above the average, but my Math is 110 points BELOW the average. I suppose that evens me out? ^^

Would you consider ESIA more competitive than CCAS?

Mi_Li
My scores were:
CR : 710
W : 690
M : 580
And I got into Elliott ED.
Especially if you want to apply to Elliott or the Journalism school, I think your math score doesn't count so much, because you most likely do not want to major in anything mathematical (unless of cours, you're considering a major such as International Economics or something).

I also wouldn't worry too much about SAT scores. GW looks like the whole student, so there are other things you can highlight in your application to supplement parts you may feel are weaker than others.

For current students, ESIA is hard to transfer into. There are more requirements to fulfill than the standard form. ESIA is more popular, so keeping a control of their numbers is key.

Are you asking if ESIA is more competitive to get into or is it a more competitive atmosphere?

Is ESIA a real cut-throat atmosphere?

I don't think ESIA is a cut-throat atmosphere. There is no benefit for students to undercut each other. There are a lot of International Affairs majors which varying interests and career goals. Also, there are many opportunities to intern, many scholarships and many programs that students can take part in. The opportunities for IAFF majors are plentiful. There is also no ranking within the department.

Because there are a lot of majors, there will be over-achievers, under-achievers, etc. We're all ESIA students who will graduate with ESIA degrees. It all equals out in the end. You are your own competition.

yayyyyy :D

im so excited about going to elliott in the fall!

so am I!
What will your concentration be, The_Nomad? (we only have to choose it in 3rd year right? second or third year, something like that...)

I'm planning on actually majoring in Middle Eastern Studies...if I change my mind, it'll probably be to international affairs with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies and another area. I think we declare after the second year. What about you?

International Politics I'm thinking. Or else there was another one that seemed pretty fun, but I prefered the courses in International Politics. I think it was Conflict and Security or something like that...

Do you know exactly how minors work? Does our minor have to be in Elliott or can it be just anything?

idk if i could minor in history id like to just so i could pick the best history courses to take that i was actually interested in
