I am a tar heel!

No dice for me. Oh well.

I’m in…now it’s just making a decision

Applied as a Junior OOS
3.7 GPA at University of Rhode Island

Has anybody not seen their decision online? My letter isn’t up on the Check Status page. It is still the same status page from december when I applied. Does this mean my application is still under review?

Hi everyone,
I’m posting from home, so I’m sorry I can’t provide any additional statistics. When I return to the office on Monday, I’ll do my best to answer those questions.
We kept a moderately-sized waitlist, but yes, we did deny students.
Log onto your homepage to view your decision. The majority of students’ decisions were posted this afternoon around 4:00, though there is still a small percentage of students whose decisions just aren’t ready yet. This could be because some of your materials were submitted late, or there was additional information that we needed. If your decision doesn’t appear on your homepage, you’re more than welcome to call our office on Monday and we’ll try to track down why your decision isn’t ready yet.
Thanks everyone.
Julie

Accepted last night! So excited. ![]()
4.0 from an OOS community college
Sophomore
Journalism major

Good luck to everyone on the waiting list! Hang in there…

i didnt get it
but congrats to everybody who did!!!

I’m still trying to figure out what went wrong with my application. My GPA is well above the average, I had good EC’s for working nearly full time, no letters of rec (weren’t required)…

Several people I tutor were admitted. I’m psyched for them, but don’t understand where my application was lacking.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to contact your admissions officer and ask questions? How would you approach that?

^^ I think you should start a new thread so that some current students can steer you in the right direction

Well, got a call from the admissions office today.

Turns out there was a mistake with my application. Someone hit the reject button by mistake when they were releasing decisions… and I was actually supposed to be admitted!!

Looks like I may be a Tar Heel after all! :)

Wow. That’s really quite frightening. Good thing you called!

Congrats Ken!!!

_ken thats amazinggg…CONGRATSSS

Thanks! I’m so excited!

I mean, mistakes do happen, I’ve made plenty in my life, so I can’t be miffed about it… I’m just glad they were able to catch it!

Julie posted this on the blog in response to someone else:

So anyone who wasn’t offered admission should definitely call, if nothing else you’ll know what you should be spending your time doing!

When I contacted them to ask about my rejection, I said that I respected that decisions had been made and wasn’t trying to ask for another evaluation or argue the merits of my app, but was genuinely curious about what they felt my application lacked so I could work to remedy it.
