can you make an email acct? register for calSO? or submit your housing app?
BECAUSE I SUBMITTED MY SIR 4 HRS AGO AND I CANT DO ANY OF THE THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
help?

I can’t, but I’m a Spring admit, so…

I submitted my SIR a half hour ago. Still not able to make the email, but I think some of the stuff opens up Monday (I tried to do L&S online orientation or whatever its called, and it said to come back on May 2nd).

And since I’ll be off-campus, I didn’t even check the housing thing. Remind me what CalSO is?

I was looking at the housing stuff and it said that if you SIR’d it might take 24 hours to get things to work. So I think it’s just the system!

(I haven’t SIR’d yet, though).

Anybody know how to change the e-mail that Berkeley currently uses to send us notifications?

santacruz - Cal Student Orientation, i believe. And yeah, I’m not as worried about the orientation thing as I am about housing/email. Have you started looking for apts yet?
I still haven’t got over the fact that we’re ****ing Bears now.
Holy shiittt.

dezziner - everything I read said that it would take about an hour to open up. Sigh, i’ll go check now just in case teehee

edit:
pessimistic - i think Berkeley wants us to use their email, not ours. let me know if you found out how to change it though!

i dont know about Cal, but UCLA asks you to wait two business days before your SIR is processed and officially in the system.

Going to SIR, as soon as I hear from my admissions counselor about a (hopefully) minor issue.

@liz - okay that makes sense. and plus its the weekend…maybe that has something to do with it? I just wish they didnt an “hour” on the Housing App lol
any idea what your guna do about your berk vs. ucla dilemma? hahahahaha it was an easy choice for me, but with your whole family sitch I think youre guna have one mighty decision to make.
coughCALcoughcough

datransfer - aww c’mon just SIR! you know you want to But i think it’s just a minor issue too.

edit: i still cant submit my housing app/make a CalMail thingy.
YYEEEEEEEESH BERKELEY C’MON LET ME BE YOU

@ Redo yeah, I’ve been lookin, seen some promising apts that might work out, and a couple houses. All relatively close to campus, so thats a plus.

@ deanza How do we find out who our admissions counselor is? Are we assigned a specific person, or what?

Oh yeah me too! I am probably going to move to oakland. I mean frick, for the money I pay in SF, I can get my own apartment instead living with other people.

santacruz - nice! i know off-campus peeps have to be really proactive about their shiz.

nero - on-campus is deffs a rip-off, but i have a SERIOUS case of fomo when it comes to Berkeley on-campus things. like i just wana live in the midst of it, and if i get shat on outside i’d rather it be by Berkeley pigeons, etc.

also, are any of you guys going to the May 7th Welcome fair thing? my dad is dragging my whole family to it, but i dont really mind seeing how it’ll give me a better picture of the campus.

I’m probably going to the May 7th thing lol. I live close to Berkeley so its not a big deal. And I need help deciding between LA/Cal.

Anybody know the fastest way to get from LA to Berkeley and back?

Hopefully SIRing on Monday (still waiting for the counselor’s reply), I can’t wait!
