AU Honors Program

Does anyone know what the stats needed are to be a competitive honors applicant? I have a 32 ACT, which seems to be good enough to get into the main college, but is it good enough for honors? Do they rely more on essays and community achievement/engagement or more on test scores for honors?

The Honor program is highly competitive and I think acceptance is based on much more than basic stats. There are only 25 spots, 5 of which are the FDDS full rides. In addition, from what I have gathered your test scores are not that important to AU. You can even apply test optional to the Honors Program. They are more concerned with GPA, course rigor, your essays and other qualities that would make you a good addition to the program. I’m not sure what those certain qualities are and I would guess they try to have a good cross-section of students from all different perspectives and backgrounds.

The prompts say they have to be 300 words. Anyone know if that’s the minimum or maximum amount of words?

I’m reasonably sure that is the maximum as if they did not give a maximum, there would be students who would write books. I’m sure they need it to brief or they could not get through all of the applications. The 4th essay is only 150 words.
