Auburn = Clemson?

I live in South Carolina and love Auburn, but lately all I’ve heard is that Auburn is just “Clemson without a lake.” I know this cant be completely true but honestly, are they that similar? I’ve visited Auburn twice and it seemed to have a very different vibe; I feel like being a huge Clemson fan I would pick up on it if they were carbon copies. However, if they really are pretty much the same, I would prefere to attend the one with in state tuition and a much shorter drive from home. Anyone familiar with both schools willing to give me their honest opinion?

I’ve always heard that Clemson and Auburn were sister schools. In what way did you find that Auburn was different than Clemson?

i’ve heard that too, but i think people just tend to try and put southern land grant schools into the same category regardless, because ive also heard that virginia tech is very similar to clemson and auburn and i didn’t like it at all. like i said, the vibe was different, meaning the feel of the campus and the students in general. but im just curious as to what people who are familiar with both schools say as far as differences and if it would be worth it to go out of state to auburn; since ive grown up around clemson my view might be a bit skewed.

this is just my observation! but it seemed to me that clemson is more academically well rounded, because when i officially visited there i heard about all kinds of programs like business and english in addition to their well known engineering and architecture. for both times i visited auburn, i was mostly told about engineering alone and the number of astronauts theyve sent into space.
