Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

D22 OOS applied 0n 10/15. Although her recommendations arrived 10/25, we heard back today and got accepted. I guess recommendations are optional items so that they don’t have to arrive on time.

I had to wait for DD22 to get home to check and unfortunately she was deferred :slightly_frowning_face: She’s ok - a bit disappointed but ok since she received 3 other acceptances. Now we wait for the remaining 3 applications. Congratulations to all who have been accepted!

hi LBML - The letter is generic and does not state the major, but thats what she selected in her common app application and also they arranged a tour to the electrical engg department when we went for a visit, registered for engg tour separately from the general campus tour. Thanks.

  • skesarim. Thank you so much- just fairly surprised based on the metrics. Not a great way to start out, but DD has a decent list, so we shall see. Congrats to you all! Exciting stuff!

Thank you! My son registered computer science on his application so hopefully that means that he was accepted into this majo.

Anyone test optional get accepted?

Deferred…We are test optional, 3.81 weighted 3.59 unweighted, a million extra curricular activities, OOS

Almost identical.

deferred as well with similar GPA but did submit test scores - SAT 1270

DD was deferred as well, GPA 3.7 with APs, ACT 29, state robotics champion, drum line lead, jazz band, varsity goalie soccer team. OOS

I am amazed at how many people were deferred this to round. My DS was also deferred. It was his #1. Legacy. OOS. Does anyone have any statistics about how many deferred actually have a chance of getting in for regular decision?

Ugh- I’m sorry to hear that! Also my daughter’s #1. They are encouraging to send in fall grades, so hopefully that will help us that are deferred.

Thanks. Good luck to your daughter. Does anyone know if they will review earlier than March or is that the only timeframe for deferral decisions?

I’m not sure on timing. We were asked to send mid year grades but wondering if they will also review 1st quarter.

Same 3.7 and 29 ACT and was deferred. Wants me to submit fall semester grades.

For those of you deferred, what did your letter say? Ours said grades and rigor…he’s in all honors or AP where possible, SAT 1410. Weighted GPA of 4.2 with more B/B+ than As, SAT 1410. It worries us for other schools.

Daughter’s deferral letter said the same, although my daughter’s GPA is lower than your son’s… she is also in AP classes, so not sure where the “rigor” part is missing.
I really wish her school wouldn’t push the apply early action dialogue, because this isn’t a great way to start out. I’m also just increasingly frustrated with some of these schools marketing so hard to increase their numbers, not saying Auburn does that… although they have sent a lot of unsolicited materials to her to say “oh we’ve heard about you” (c’mon)
UGA is so transparent in their application process; it’s refreshing. You might not hear what you want to hear, but at least it’s transparent and up front.

Sounds like applicants, gpa and test scores are very high this year. There were a lot of acceptances that first EA deadline. Wondering if they have decided defer to see what else comes in these next two application periods. Lots of really high stats deferred this second EA that were accepted for the 9/15 deadline.

Deferred OOS too. 3.8GPA National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, varsity sports, tons of extracurriculars. Same letter about rigor and he is taking IB classes. Disappointed.
