The website says the students should dress nicely and treat the audition like a real interview. For guys, does that mean a jacket and tie, or nice button down shirt and possibly a sweater? Any help or suggestions would be great! Audition next week!

Most of the guys we’ve seen are wearing the “audition uniform” black dress pants and solid button down shirt. My S’s wears a thin black tie and rolls his shirt sleeves up.
Others wear bow ties. I’ve seen a few sweaters too. I would not wear a jacket and tie, that’s a little too formal. I’ve been trying to talk my S into a more casual look but he’s not having it. Break a leg!

I agree with MTMajorCook, if the site says “dress nicely”, dress pants or nice chino type and a dress shirt should be appropriate. Not many wear ties. Break a Leg to your son!

Thanks everyone for your input- that helps! We go this weekend- yikes!

Good Luck! My S INSISTS on wearing black pants, dress shoes, bright shirt and tie - or bow tie - but that’s actually what he wears to school almost every day. His choice. He’s thinking of “upgrading” to new skinny jeans. I’m not sure what that will mean for the shoe choice. . .

LOL @ mom4broadwayboy on the shoe choice?

Perhaps black “retro” athletic shoes. Or maybe combat boots. . .
