I’m just a little confused. I’m going to be transferring to Otterbein for Fall Semester. I plan on auditioning on March 6th and I know I have to have my audition date requested by February 15th 2010. I’m already working on my application and plan on having that and my transcripts sent in this week. However on the website for theatre it said that auditions for the 2010-2011 academic year have been closed. Does this mean that they have already found everyone that they wanted? Just a little confused as to why it said auditions were closed when they still have auditions in February and in March. I’m not mad just wondering.

I think you should call the department asap if you haven’t already done so. It is possible the slots for auditions are filled up already. I don’t think it means that the class has been selected. I would get it clarified asap. If the slots are filled, it’s possible someone may choose to move or cancel their audition and you might find an opening that way. Even though Feb 15th might have been the latest date to request your audition date, demand might have been a bit higher this year, and slots filled up more quickly. Hope it works out.

I called and left a voicemail. I hope it all works out!

Let me assure you that we have not made any offers yet. We don’t, until we’ve seen all the auditions. The note on our website only indicates that our audition slots have filled up. So as long as you’ve already made arrangements to audition on March 6, you’re fine. If you haven’t, we still may be able to work you in. Write to Harriet Hill, our audition coordinator and ask to be put on a waiting list for that date. Her address is listed on the website.

I look forward to seeing you in March.

Thank you so much doctorjohn!
