Audition experience

Would anyone be willing to share their audition experience for the Theater major?

Yeah, sure thing! I auditioned in December of 2012, during my senior year of high school, and I’m about to enter my sophomore year in the program.

It’s a pretty straightforward process: you show up at Moulton Center, check in with the attendant (there will be a student in the lobby who will have some paperwork for you), fill out the paperwork, and they’ll call you into the audition when they’re ready for you.

Once you get inside, there’s a panel of faculty members (usually two of them) who will be your auditors. You perform your two monologues for them; they may offer direction, but if they don’t you’ll proceed to the interview. There, you just have a seat and they’ll ask you a few questions about your experience, your aspirations, and where you’re coming from as a performer. Then they say thank you and send you out. That’s it!

If you’ve got any further questions about the program, feel free to send me a PM. :)

Wonderful thanks! Can I ask if you applied Early Admissions ore regular?

Early Admission.

I sent you a PM thanks again for your willingess to help

hi! i was wondering what kind of grades you had going into the audition?

I had a weighted GPA of 3.63 and good SAT/ACT scores. It matters, but not as much as talent.

My D has a weighted 4.4 but not great SAT’s only 1880…Thanks for being so willing to answer my questions. She is going to do Early Admit so hopefully that helps too :)
