and don't take it personally... Jesse is a unisex name, or at least it is where I am from... Thank you! and congrats

CMU accepted two kids from precollege: one girl and one boy. Jesse is the boy. :) (Hi, Jesse!!)

Hey all, some of you may know me some of you may not; what is important is that I'm currently in my sophomore year at CMU as an acting major, and while I read the CC boards quite often, I only post when I think I can contribute something useful to the conversation.

To further explore a possible reason that people have different audition experiences at CMU: each year there is a different faculty member that accompanies the head of the acting department on the audition tour. the nature of your audition will obviously be effected by which one of the additional faculty members you are auditioning for.

and as for the timing question, I auditioned early february at the Los Angeles stop on the tour, but we really have a mixed bag of audition locations in the members of my class, everywhere from unifieds at chicago to right here in pittsburgh at CMU.

In my experience, the most important thing you can bring to an audition is yourself, fully engaged and ready to go. So I would recommend not auditioning at your "dream school" first. Its good to go in and get some BFA audition experience just so you have an idea of what may be coming. for me, CMU was my second audition (out of 4). I was turned down from my first audition (USC) but then, got more favorable answers from my last three (CMU, DePaul, Roosevelt).
