Augustana College or Lawrence University?

I am making my final decision between these two schools. Any advice, or input? I am looking to both schools for Midwest location, Liberal Arts education, excellent academics and intercollegiate athletics. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or information on these two schools. Thank you!

I’d be partial to Lawrence, myself. I like the trimester schedule, smaller enrollment, larger endowment, and stronger academics. But I’ve got a friend who has two kids at Augustana, and they’re loving it. You probably can’t go wrong no matter which one you pick, so do whatever’s cheapest. ;-)

Do you know what they love about Augustana? Just want to make the best choice-- THANK YOU!

Can you visit both schools before May 1? If so, DO SO. Get the vibe yourself. Every person is different and different things attract or repel different people. Seen it a thousand times, even at places like Duke.

Lawrence is a wonderful school. I know people who went there, one a long time ago and another fairly recently. Its colder than Iceland up there in winter but that is part of its charm.

Academically, its a flip of the coin. I think Augustana is a Lutheran School. And if you are Lutheran, then it may be a factor for you. Otherwise, maybe not.

Both fine schools.

I would go with Lawrence, but visit both to see where you would fit in. Lawrence is slightly stronger academically, but Augustana would provide you with an excellent education as well.

I have visited both campuses-- and I am very fond of Lawrence as a school and it’s beautiful location…It is just helpful to hear from others…Thank you!

My pleasure. Good luck. Lawrence is a great school and if that is where your gut is telling you to go, then do it.

Personally, I would pick Lawrence. I have visited both schools and liked Lawrence’s campus better and thought that it was a bit more intellectual than Augustana. However, either choice would provide you a quality education. Good luck.
