xtra – North campus is better? The parking garage where my car is going to be parked will be on that side; I’m going to be in the Honors Quad – anything to say 'bout those garages; 27th or Speedway? It doesn’t look that bad; but I’ve only been around there during the day…?

I agree with Why Two Kay…it sounds alot worse than it actually is. Ive walked around west campus tons of time at 2,3,or 4 in the morning and i havent ever felt not safe…mainly because there were always a ton of people out too. i mean if you dont feel safe walking that late at night then just call yourself a cab or something

nope sasha, I do not have a car. I have been around the RLM (physics) building at night around 9 or 10 to use the swimming pool at gregory; so far I have not gotten robbed.

@plnlin2 What kind of floor plan did you get at 21 Rio. I find a lot of the 2 bedrooms lame because there is a clear “master” bedroom and a clear “secondary barely a bedroom” bedroom. At least for the 2 bedroom/2 bath setups.

I was thinking about living there my Junior/Senior years because of it’s nice proximity to 21st street (where the business school, library, stadium, Jester, etc, all are) and on Rio where there are some places to eat, and it’s a short walk to other apartments, fraternity houses, etc in west campus. And it’s close to Guadalupe too.

Why Two Kay, they had a really sweet deal at 21 Rio that I didn’t jump on and now I regret. Their last 1/1 efficiency (the smallest, but STILL) was $485 a month. ;_____;

That being said, it’s a nice complex, but apparently it’s getting trashed out like J26. Ah, what can you do with all these college kids…

^ Wow that’s a really good deal, although I would never do a 1/1. Too lonely and small IMO.

And it’s at least better than some of the other places because it goes up much higher in floors, so you are father from street traffic. And it’s a bit more expensive (although, higher quality).

Do you know what deals they have now at 21 Rio? The last I checked was at the beginning of July so I’m not sure if anything has changed. I need to find housing soon…

One of their two bedrooms really came down in price to 850 per room. Although most of their floor plans have at least 1 occupant and you’ll have to be matched with another person.

Ideally, you find a place to live in August for the /next year/. I am a sophomore and I am going to find a place/sign a lease in the next few months for my junior year. That is how you get assured openings for LOW prices.

There’s 2 ways to get low prices, get in really early and get in really late. If you wait for the last minute, you are risking getting floor plans you don’t want at places not ideally located for you, but you can get AMAZING rates. If you’re willing to risk it.

West Campus is so expensive… I think I’ll just become a Drag rat after my freshman year… x___x

Thanks for the 21 rio, info.

I am playing a dangerous game of signing up late because super seniors like me dgaf.

@Why Two Kay. mine is plan K. My friend and I will share the master bedroom. We signed the contract in May. I wish we had waited another month and I would have got the free parking. You can wait until the end of June or early July to get a better deal next year if you can wait.

I am playing the late game too… although do not know if I should continue my lease for 650 per month at apartments at red river.
