Auto-Admission into A&M and Honors College

Hi,

So I am basically auto-admitted into A&M, and people have been telling me to submit my application as early as possible so that I can get into the major that I want. I have finished filling out my online application, but I'm still not quite done with the essay portion. I'm having someone read over my essays, and it's probably going to take him at 4 or 5 days to finish.
Should I just submit the edited drafts (the most recent draft I've revised that he has read over) in so that I can be done with my app, or should I wait until I have a more perfected essay then send it in? The problem with the latter is that the major I want will fill up pretty fast, and I want to send in the app as soon as I can.

Do essays really even matter for admission when you're auto-admitted?

Also, I'm a bit confused about how honors colleges work. What exactly is the difference between a regular college and its honors college? I know the academics are probably more rigorous, but other than that, what are the benefits of applying for honors college? It is definitely harder to get in, correct?

Thank you!
