Auto-admit student looking for her letter

I should be an automatic admit student...

In-state
Valedictorian (1/18, but it still counts ;) )
2170 SAT (1450 CR+M)

I don't know if it matters, but I'm a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist and I have solid ECs and good essays.

They received my app on 11/30, processed it on 12/8, and as of this morning when I checked AIS, I am on Step 3 of the admissions process. I guess I was hoping that I'd have my letter/email by now, and I'm getting anxious, because I only applied to TAMU and Yale. Not exactly a safety school.

How long does it take to get from Step 3 --> Step 4 for an automatic admit student? When should I expect to receive an admissions decision?

usually it takes around a week to two weeks for it to move from step 3 to step 4

when you get to step 4 it shows the date they mailed your decision and depending on how fast or slow the mail is, you may get it within a few days. for me, I ended up finding out online first because if you’ve been accepted, there’s a step 5 which I saw around 5 days before my acceptance packet came in the mail.

other than that…you should be more than fine. you’ll get in.

It is taking a little longer now because of the holidays and the scholarship deadline of Dec 1. Thousands of applications came in at the same time you sent your application in. Dont worry. You will be admitted. You just can’t expect the quick turn around time you would have if you’d sent your application in before Thanksgiving.

My son went from step two to step three on 12/14 and received his acceptance today 12/15. So if you are an academic admit, it should be very soon!

I’ve been accepted today. it took about a week from step 3 to step 5. I’m not
sure about step 4 because I didn’t check.
