<p>You can do whatever you want with that question. Some people write about an event that has already happened, some write about something that happens in the future. It's completely up to you how you want to tackle it.</p>

<p>I actually ended up writing on the "First experiences" topic (don't know if that's an option this year) I talked about a summer program I did that threw me into all sorts of new experiences, and how that's helped give me the confidence to tackle unfamiliar situations now (I was painfully shy and hesitant to try new things before)</p>
