@cheskaj I know of a school mate still waiting for decision.
I have 70 credits on a semester-based system and took a more challenging course load each semester.
I took Calculus 1-3, Discrete Math Structures, a year of Calc-based physics (both mechanics and E&M), three CS courses (intro course, OOP & Data Structures, intro. to different programming languages), a research course that involved Math and CS. I also took two courses of English, Economics, and Philosophy. (and many other courses)
The first two CS courses that I took appear similar in description to CSE 142 & 143 at UW. I looked at the prerequisites at http://www.cs.washington.edu/prospective_students/undergrad/admissions/upper_division and I believe I should have them covered.
I just called the admissions office and they said they’re still sending our letters and reviewing applications. I’m still waiting on mine, they also asked if I wanted to know the decisions on the spot before waiting for the letter or myUW to update. Unfortunately they still haven’t made a final decision yet on my application, so if you want to know call the office and they’ll tell you if you have been admitted!
Agh! Of course they’re now closed when I see this. Looks like I have yet another few days to wait. This process is painful.
So my admission page and unofficial transcript stil havent changed but I got a acceptance email from UW. Yayyy! Good luck to everyone
@cheskaj Still waiting. Extremely unhappy. Keeping people waiting like this is unconscionable. How are people supposed to secure things like funding, jobs, and housing when they give you less than 8 weeks notice? If I had any other options, I wouldn’t even consider UW, because I don’t want to go to a school that clearly has no respect for its students and applicants. But I cannot move out of Seattle and I cannot afford Seattle U.
Transcript and portal message changed the other day Got accepted despite getting rejected by my intended major (vcd). There is hope for department rejected applicants! I think the rest of decisions should definitely start rolling this coming week.
For those who received any mail from financial aid, how long did the email reach you after your transcript loaded? D:
Has anyone heard back today? I’m extremely interested to know how they plan to get all of the letters to us by tomorrow if they haven’t even updated our portal yet, nor made all the decisions yet. If anyone has heard back at all today, rejection or acceptance, please let us know! I’m still waiting on mine as well.
@TheGodfather19 There’s no way they’re going to let us all know by tomorrow. Some of us will not hear anything until sometime in August. Some people last year didn’t hear until the second week of August, in fact. If someone said that we’d all hear by the last day of July, they weren’t being honest, because there’s no way for that to happen now. Seems that the June-July notification period they tout on the website is a fiction at best. (I obviously haven’t heard anything at all today.)
Congrats to you, @jonginnie!
@TadGhostal I wonder if making us wait this long is good or bad in regards to our chance of acceptance? Like are there still a lot of people that are going to accepted, or should everyone at this point expect rejection? That’s my question.
@TheGodfather19 It’s not good or bad; it just is. Some people will still be accepted and some people will still be rejected. There’s no way to know. The long wait time doesn’t indicate anything other than slow and ineffective bureaucracy on the part of the university, and dishonesty about the notification period. That’s all. It doesn’t indicate our chances at all, either way. The lateness of notifications is just lateness of notifications and nothing more. It’s not like a magic 8 ball. As frustrated as I am with this process (and the disrespect I perceive in it), we’ll know when we’ll know. I know you’re impatient. I am, too, and angry. But let’s not make ourselves crazier by looking for hints when they aren’t there!
I posted way back in this thread, but my status changed to Congratulations! two days ago. I still haven’t received my letter yet.
I applied to UW-Seattle (major: political science) and to UW-Tacoma (major: PP&E). Was accepted to UWT right away and still waiting on UW-Seattle. Apparently, the “June/July” notification period for UW-Seattle was optimistic… On MyUW, when I click on the status of my UW-Seattle application, it still says that they’ll inform me “by postal mail when a decision is made on your application.” When I click on my “Unofficial Transcript” it loads with my student ID number, DOB, class, and lists my college as UW Tacoma (because I’ve already been accepted there) and my major. So… I guess, if UW-Seattle accepts me, the website would list info for both UWT and UW-Seattle, right? That’s assuming I don’t get a letter in the mail first… :((
(Political Science, In-state transfer)
I received the acceptance email from ME department on Friday. My UW and unofficial transcript have not updated yet. Good luck to everyone.
My unofficial transcript loaded. Pre-social science major.
Goodluck to everyone!
My unofficial transcript loaded and application status page changed to accepted. Environmental Studies major and out-of-state transfer. Good luck y’all.
@UWME13 Same as me
Hey guys so I just called Admissions, and they told me that all decisions were made over the weekend, but weren’t able to be processed and sent out cuz it wasn’t a business day. They told me that everything should be updated and sent out by today or tomorrow latest. Hopefully they’re being honest. Good luck everyone!
Thanks for the update, @TheGodfather19. Best of luck to you!
My unofficial transcript loaded at 2:55 this afternoon! So there’s still hope!
