Autumn 2016 Transfer- Big Envelope/ Unofficial Transcript

I’m glad I’m not the only one still waiting [-O<

I wonder if admissions can see how many times we access our MyUW account and check our unofficial transcript… If they can I’m sure they know that we’re losing our minds waiting!

Can UW see applicants grade of winter and spring?
I know some cases that other university asked applicants submitting spring grade.
But what I mean, UW can see applicants grade of spring without his/her permission?
If they can, the reason of late decision may be because they want to see applicant’s spring grade.
I they cannot, I don’t know why their decision is so late than last year

Hey guys, I got in! Good luck to all those still waiting, mine loaded at 3:20 today- it can happen at any time.

By that I mean my unofficial transcript loaded, nothing else changed.

Congrats @ginger5409 !
Did your status on your application change ?

@seesee12 I’m wondering too because I applied during my winter quarter. I even called and asked if they needed an updated transcript and I emailed and both times they said they didn’t. I know for freshman applicants they ask for updates.

I think only general admission applicants got decision.
Any Biology applicant got decision? Or other major?

From what I’ve read/heard from previous years, is that they send out a batch, and then those have a due date for their deposits. On that due date, the next batch gets sent out. From last year’s thread that was the pattern, and seemed to be every two weeks or so. And it typically goes by major (that way the orientations scheduled for that group pertains to that group) but, again, not necessarily always true.
@ginger5409 , when you get your envelope, do you mind updating on when your deposit is due, so we can see if that’s the case again this year? And, congrats!!

@Aharris1105 @seesee12, I talked to admissions in person, and they said that they take whatever grades thy have of transfer students at the time of application as the trend your grades will have for the remaining quarters. But if you did much better than previous quarters and want to show improvement or something, then you can send an updated transcript. Though, they may not even look at the later one, it is worth a shot.

Thanks so much guys! My application has been updated, but it was not immediately updated. I’d be happy to let you know the deposit deadline when I get the letter in a few days, no problem!

I got accepted. i want to apply biochem major. i wondering is it the biochem major is very hard to get it ?

@CompSci18 so they send out batches based on which major you chose?

Congratulations to all who have been accepted! This is really exciting! Do you guys mind posting your stats and whether you’re an OOS or in-state transfer? That way those of us who are super anxious about not being good enough (myself included) can have a little peace of mind and compare our stats.

@Aharris1105 for the most part, yes. But, apparently, part of the reason for the batches and then next batch being sent after deposit deadline for previous batch, is so that if someone declined, the spot can be given to someone else on the “backup” list. So, even though for the most part it is departmental, it is not necessarily the case. And just because you get yours later, doesn’t mean you were a “back-up”.

It’s just like a mental game t___t

I’m an in state student, I got my DTA, and I have a 4.0. However, I won’t be ready for my major for about a year probably (mostly, but not entirely, because certain classes weren’t offered at my CC).

@CompSci18 So, we do not have to update our transcript right? it is kinda fun. They said they set the deadline that late because they wanted to see the grades in SPring quarter. I guess it is only for current UW students.

@thaipq In last year threads, I found one person who got a mail of update final transcript. He was transfer applicant from 4year university. I don’t know how many applicant were asked final transcript but in that thread, only one person
Or maybe UW can see applicants spring grade without student’s permission in case of instate CC applicants

It makes sense. I know one guy who got into cse department in Spring. He didn’t have to send his grades in Winter. However, his gpa was really high ( like 3.97-3.98)

is it biochem in uw is a competitive major ?
