I’m taking some IB classes, but only going for certain certificates. </p>
<p>It’s nice to finally see a thread where I don’t feel so inadequate. 
I’m applying to a big reach school and it’s scary comparing my stats to some of the people here on CC. It’s nice to see a thread that’s grounded, you know?</p>

<p>@ BlackRose101: Interesting that you should mention that part about “things not matching up”. I’ve discovered on more than one occasion that some posters, including some fairly well-established people, either entirely fabricated certain achievements or embellished them. Of course, they do not make up the majority of the people on this site, but I’m just posting this to say that this is the internet; therefore not everyone is honest.</p>
<p>I have a 3.0 but have never scored less than a 5 on an AP exam, got a 33 on my ACT, and hold officer positions in two clubs, one of them being captain of the debate team. WHERE DO I BELONG?</p>

<p>We all know that the cc’er population (or at least the people that post) are not average in any way, shape or form. If you want an “average student”, take a look at where the general concensus is in your classes. That will tell you what the real “average” is. Though if you are even on cc, you are probably above this norm.</p>
<p>the average in my school is not the real average. They’ve separated the smart from the ummm, how would I put it? Not so smart…</p>

<p>I consider myself average here because I’m East Asian and because my ECs are crap.</p>
<p>Have never taken the SAT or PSAT.
Just took the ACT today and did not-so-well.
GPA: 3.9ish Sometimes I even get a B on my report card 
ECs: Band, and just applied for NHS. I’m section leader for band, and ran for band president and lost.
APs and Honors: 1 (AP Language) and 3 (Chemistry, Precalculus, and History) respectively and I’m totally happy with that. Only taking 2 APs next year as a senior. The horror!</p>

<p>OMG yay I’m not the only one. Lol. Yeah I’m only in honors physiology and a more rigorous English and history class. I’m also only taking Spanish 2. I see some CC’ers on here taking languages like Latin. Lol my school doesn’t offer anything like that. My classes aren’t bad. I’m only a sophomore. Maybe they’ll get more advanced.</p>
<p>Only on CC can I be a kid who gets almost all A’s in a full AP schedule and has a pretty good PSAT score feel horribly inadequate.</p>
