Hello, I had a quick question. I am a transfer student from Pasadena City College to UCLA. For my cumulative GPA, do I average those GPA's together? So I have a 3.4 almost a 3.5 in UCLA, and a 3.7 at Pasadena City College. Will i need to average those together for med school apps??

Yes. All college level grades (including grades from co-enrollment courses in high school) are reported on your AMCAS application.

Yes, because if you don’t and they find you had additional enrollments that you neglected to mention the consequences can be harsh.

@joshringu,
Your GPA will be computed from each college class you have taken at all institutions where you enrolled. It will NOT be the average of the GPAs from your two colleges.
So the answer to your question is no.

While others have said yes, they really meant what plumazul meant. It’s the average of EVERY class you took at EVERY school, so in essence it’s a weighted average of each institution weighted based on how many of your total courses you took there

take your GPA from Pasaeana City and multiply it by the number of credits earned there
then take your GPA from UCLA and multiply it by the number of credits earned there
find the sum of the two products and divide by the total number of combined credits…thats your cumulative GPA
here’s an example (i changed the numbers for ease of showing how its done)
3 from pasadena and 10 credits~30
4 from UCLA and 20 credits~80
sum~30+80=110
30 total credits:
110/30=3.67 overall GPA i hope that makes sense

ahh okay understood! thank you so much!!
