average gpa

anyone know the average gpa of people accepted into cornell, weighted if possible

Cornell doesn't publish that number, but it's probably around 3.8-3.9 unweighted.

my gpa is out of a 5 point system as a 4.8/5 weighted. You cant base anything purely on that though but is it alright

Are you kidding...obviously that gpa isn't going to hurt you. (unless the uw is bad)

my school doesnt count unweighted so does that mean the unweighted gpa doesnt matter. It would probably be like a 4.4-4.5.

Cornell will unweight it themselves then...I actually don't know of any colleges that use a weighted gpa. They will probably also take out the "fluff" courses that give you higher grades (gym, etc...) (ya I know, it sux).

An unweighted GPA can only be 4.0 max, man, except in the rare case where an A+ is 4.2 or 4.3. WHere are you coming from with this 4.4-4.5?

It's alright, engineer's don't have to focus on reading too much ;)

"my gpa is out of a 5 point system"

My high school had a 5-point weighted system and a 4-point unweighted system...
