My daughter auditioned at the Chicago unified 1/31. Pins and needles is putting it mildly. Really nice people and an outstanding program. I hope she gets in.

I know a girl who’s been accepted and I think she’s the only one so far. She auditioned in November. The rest I think are deferred until after the unifieds.

from the auditions, some are deffered and many are rejected. Not all are deffered

Theatrenerd10 I’m auditioning march 6th too!!

Has anyone from the 1/15 auditions heard anything at all? I vaguely remember them saying that yes,no,maybe letters would go out within a few weeks. Friday will be 4 weeks… my daughter checks the mailbox as soon as she gets home everyday…

My D auditioned that weekend as well. I am sure we were told in the parent meeting with the rep from admissions that we would hear in about 2 weeks (yes, no, or “maybe”-ie waiting until all auditions done for final decisions). She hasn’t heard anything.
We were at Indiana this past weekend and another parent told me that her S auditioned later (? the following weekend), hadn’t heard, but she thought Mr Wagner said 2 to 4 weeks.
So it continues…

Not that it helps much…but no news is good news. I think they send out no’s before deferrals, so no news means you are still being considered! Good luck to all of you!!

Generally, schools that have an oncampus audition shortly before they go to Unifieds take longer for that batch of notifications because they have so MANY people to consider at once.

I auditioned on Feb 1st at Unifieds and they warmed me up really high to hear my operatic voice. Exactly two weeks from that date is Monday, President’s Day. Do you think that they will call me even though it’s a national holiday?

I’m so excited to hear from them!

From what we’ve seen, there are no hard and fast rules for how the acceptances are notified, but there IS certainly a pattern. If the decision is a “no” you will receive a letter in the mail, as soon as 2 weeks after your audition. Your Wolverine Access status might also show the decision, but typically, I think they try and make sure that the letter would be received before the status changes on wolverine access.

If you are deferred, you will also receive a letter in the mail telling you that you’ve been deferred, and that you are still being considered, so to please hang in there a bit longer! And from what I remember, there is no change on your wolverine access status as long as you’re still in the deferral status.

If you are accepted, they almost always TRY and call you on the phone to notify you first. However, that doesn’t always work, so occasionally, someone will not get a phone call, or at least not until after they’ve received their acceptance letter in the mail.

As far as where the phone calls go to – When my daughter was accepted, the Dean called her on her cell phone rather than on our home phone, and we didn’t know she’d even received the call until she came out of her room hysterically crying (with joy)!

Obviously, it’s not always going to work the same way, but this is what we’ve seen from our own experience, and the experiences of others we’ve known.

Waving wildly at Tiff I hope C is having a fabulous year!

My son’s experience was contrary to what is generally expected. He auditioned at Chicago Unifieds 2 years ago. He logged into his Wolverine Access on a whim 2 1/2 - 3 weeks later and was very surprised to find notification he had been accepted at UM. No phone call was ever received, and the letter didn’t arrive for several more days after that.

do you know where exactly on the wolverine access we should be checking? is it kind of subtle, or really hard to miss?

It should have a link that says “View Decision” when it’s ready. When you click on that it’ll tell you whether you’ve been accepted or rejected. It’ll be next to the “View Credentials” link.

awesome! thank you!

Just found out that a kid from MPulse just got in. He auditioned in Ann Arbor at one of the last weekends. My D is still waiting to hear either way…

My D just confirmed that one of her MPulse friends, a boy was admitted to UMich yesterday! He apparently got a phone call and auditioned on campus on Jan 29. Good luck to all of those waiting to hear…

I auditioned Feb 2…I keep checking my Wolverine Access but nothing is there. Anyone know what that could mean, should I have heard already?

a girl and guy have been accepted. The girl auditioned in Jan on campus and was deferred before being accepted. The guy auditioned at the Chicago unifieds and got a phone call.

So far we have heard of 4 girls who were accepted and 3 boys - some from Michigan auditions and some from the Chicago Unifieds.

Does anyone know if they have posted any notices for Chicago Unifieds that have the “2 week” message? We know of people who auditioned in January who got their notices, but we have not heard yet if they have posted some “you will get a letter in 2 weeks” notices for any of the Chicago Unifeds.

Yeah, just today I got the “2 week” message and I auditioned at Chicago Unifieds. =[
