Awaiting decisions

Does a “two week” message mean that you are going to get a rejection in the mail?

Well you cannot be sure I guess until a letter arrives, but from all the previous posts, it seems like the 2 week messages have been rejections. It sounds like maybe some who auditioned in Chicago may have messages when they check wolverine access now. We still do not have anything. I wonder if they do them in some batches or in order of the audition dates.

My D auditioned on campus Jan 15 and still no letter, no change in wolverine access and no call…

My D auditioned on 1/22 on campus and just got the rejection notice :[

i auditioned feb. 5th on campus and just received the 2 week message. does that mean it is a rejection? like in the past, do people who get deferred also receive this message and what do those students who are accepted receive on wolverine?

From everything I’ve heard and can assume, the “2 week” message means it’s a rejection. If there is nothing there then they haven’t made a decision (deferred?), and I guess it would say accepted or you’d get a call if it was a yes. But I think it’s safest to say you can’t be sure until you receive the letter…but prepare for the worst. That’s what I’m doing. =[

I auditioned at the Chicago unifieds and still haven’t heard a thing…

You know what they say…no news is good news!

So, Starbird, you’re saying that on Wolverine Access it says the Program Information thing with:
School:Academic Program:
Music, Theatre & Dance Musical Theatre BFA
Academic Plan:
Musical Theatre BFA
Academic Sub-Plan:

Academic Career:
Undergrad Music, Thtre & Dance
Application Term:
Fall 2010

And then:

“Thank you for applying to the University of Michigan - School of Music, Theater and Dance. A careful review of your application and all related materials has been completed. You will receive official written notification of our admission decision within the next 2 weeks.”

below it?

That is usually equalling rejection?

And, my mother has taken away my cell phone, so I don’t know if they’ve even called me. :(

Sorry, but that is unfortunately what is says if you have been rejected. Everyone’s Wolverine thing says their Name and Intended Degree Plan, etc.

Just got a letter… deferred!

Yeah it’s definitely a rejection. I got my letter in the mail today after receiving the 2 weeks notice, and it was a rejection.

I may sound like a pessimist but do those who are deferred really have a chance at an acceptance? How many people get deferred? There are two more auditions left before they give us their decisions and I feel like the odds are against me… how many girls have been accepted so far?

People definitely get admitted who were at one time deferred. Being deferred is NOT a wait list. They accept very few as they go along as they need to see all auditions before filling the class. So, they hold onto some until all auditions are done and then select the rest of the class from this holding pile. Think of it as having made a “cut”. I know kids who got into Mich in spring after all auditions were over who had auditioned on earlier dates but had to wait until the end of the cycle (or “deferred”). I also know some who were deferred but didn’t get accepted. But it sure is nicer to still be in consideration rather than already rejected.

Bingo. Got my rejection today.

Does anyone know how many people have been accepted?

Auditioned at Chicago unifieds…deferred!

Auditioned in NYC Unifieds. Rejected.

Mtlover92:

I have heard varying reports of between 9-12 being accepted so far, but I do not know how many have accepted that offer yet. I believe they still have one more audition date, so they will leave room to hear all of those before accepting the whole class.

My daughter auditioned in March last year and heard a week later.

Good luck to you, a deferral is good news.
