Is it better to list a few major awards or add things like dept awards and honor societies?

List the awards that are the most highly regarded, and indicate this with the order that you list them in.

so admissions won't want to see long lists of relatively minor awards? I just don't want them to think that I have no awards

well...i'm sure they would prefer major awards above minor ones, but if you don't have a long list of the former, then fill in the remaining spaces with the latter :D

the thing is...some of the dept of awards were only offered in 9th or 10th grades....my school doesn't give out many awards. So I don't know if admissions will think I didn't get them in 11th and 12th grades

and what would you consider "long"

Well if your school doesn't offer many awards, perhaps you should try and find a place in the application where you can mention this, and that you have won as many awards as your school offers...

By long, I simply mean that you can fill out the spaces with international or national achievements.

Just don't list really pointless awards like placing 5th in the nation in Siemens. :p

hahaha
oh..that

this is random.. but jcr182 - start up a Pton myspace thread, i wanna see wat pton applicants look like. i cant do it coz i am slut
