I’m filling out the common app for Stanford. I know that they do not want any additional information, but I have extra awards that won’t fit in the 5 slots provided. Is it okay to list them in the additional info section? Or will Stanford not read it? If not, which of the awards do you think I should list?

National Spanish Exam Level 1 - 1st Place in State

National Spanish Exam Level 2 99th percentile, Gold Medal Winner

National French Contest Level 3 2nd Place in the Pacific Region, 4th Place nationally

Ayn Rand Anthem Essay Contest 2nd Place

AMC 10 2nd Place in School

Harvard Prize Book

State Math League Cumulative High Scoring Student

National Merit Semifinalist

National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar

AP Scholar

honestly, here's what i would put in order of importance:

National Spanish Exam Level 1 - 1st Place in State and National Spanish Exam Level 2 – 99th percentile, Gold Medal Winner (find a way to combine them)

National French Contest Level 3 – 2nd Place in the Pacific Region, 4th Place nationally

Ayn Rand Anthem Essay Contest – 2nd Place

National Merit Semifinalist and AP Scholar (can you combine them?)

math league (is this state or high school?)

also - did u qualify for the AIME?

good luck

and they wouldn't read ur extra info since they say no extra info...oh and NMSF is more important than your national hispanic regconition i think...

I put stuff in the additional info section of stanford's app....
I'm pretty sure that they just ask for no supplementary materials, which doesnt mean "do not fill out the additional info section of the common app"

Thanks for the replies! @ana: we compete in the math league through school, but the cumulative high scoring thing is for all the schools in the state who compete.

Just a general question: Is the Harvard Book Award significant at all (not necessarily in terms of getting into Harvard, but in general)?

and the harvard book award thing is pretty interesting, but i think it just takes your school to nominate you, so you're probably one of the best students in your school. it depends on what school you're applying to, but it isn't that significant compared to your other awards.
