What is the policy about mids going to away football games? How are they picked? Do they fly with the team? Are plebes allowed to go?

Just saw next year's schedule and the game against North Texas will be about 30 minutes from our house! The parent's club is already telling us to get ready to host mids. "Get ready to stack them like cordwood" was the language, hehe. God willing Spider gets the appointment, this could be fun.

If he can get on Movement Orders, the NAAA may reimburse at least some of the cost of his ticket home. Signing up early is the key because I think there's a limited number of Mids that can go on the MO. They do have to make their own arrangements coming and going. If it's close enough to drive, the Mids go on USNA buses.

Plebes are allowed to go to away football games. Mine went out for the Stanford game last fall. D&B travels to all away games. Other than for AF, you book your own travel arrangements and then are reimbursed whatever the travel allowance for that game was if you are on MO. Even for AF you could book your own travel and not use Military. Plebes are not "escorted" mine stayed at own hotel room and only had to check in at the beginning of the game. A friend (Plebe) of his stayed are her parents home. I think that the D&B did stay at Parents Club homes.

Spidermom, you can't be too far from my house! I heard about the UNT game and I'm already getting ready to have a house full of Mids!! I can't wait!

SCary is the right word for it! And our HS coach left this year to go to UNT...it's a very small world indeed. Good luck to Spider...I'll keep my fingers crossed for him to get an appt.

Thank you! He has lots of friends at UNT so it'll be a fun time if those 2 big ifs are satisfied (he gets in and gets to go). Navy will beat the daylights out of UNT!
