Awesome school, pretty campus, pretty people, and amazing town...

What schools would you say fit this criteria that aren't incredibly hard to get into??

Thinking maybe University of Denver and University of Colorado so far, but I'm not sure...

Looking for schools similar to SMU but not as extremely conservative.

Thanks Alot!! Get back to me please!

Pepperdine Unversity, Colgate University, Notre Dame, Elon, Loyola Marymount

College of Charleston definetely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

College of Charleston definitely interests me...

Not so sure about Pepperdine or Notre Dame just because of the stricter religious affiliation

Anyone else!

Georgia!!!! Athens is a great college town. Great sports.
You described Vanderbilt, but it's pretty selective.

Yeah

even UGA out of state is competitive now!

I need to go on a trip this summer to visit some schools since I'm a junior.

I'm thinking I'll apply to

Denver, SMU, College of Charleston, University of Colorado-Boulder, USC, Miami, Boston University, and I'm not sure what else...

UW-Madison comes to mind as the ideal college town, Michigan and Michigan State are nice too

BU definitely doesn't have a pretty campus, nor much of a campus at all, for that matter. And from what I've seen, the people tend to get prettier as you head west down Commonwealth Ave. (i.e., toward BC, which generally has the more attractive students).

Yeah BU is sort of an exception just because I feel like I'd enjoy living in Boston so much...

I'm leaning towards Boulder, but not positive if i'll get in..
I get my first SAT scores back soon, but I got a 68 on English PSAT and a 74 in Math so I think I'll do pretty well...

Definitely take a look at Furman too, and maybe Elon or Wake Forest.

Any schools in California?

University of San Diego... FTW

Damn, but that's mainly a commuter school, isn't it? Aka, everyone's local.

No, USD is not local/commuter. There are lots of other schools with "San Diego" in the name (notably UCSD and SDSU), but I am talking about the private school here:
University of San Diego

Check it out - USD is very much like the San Diego version of SMU or U of Denver.

University of Texas in Austin. A little weak on the pretty campus side but right on for the other three.

U of Denver, SMU, and San Diego sound like winnnners

Agreed USD fits that bill. So does Elon. Both GORGEOUS campuses.

Elon has VERY nice people. I mean that.

Alright might have to check out Elon too...

I don't really want to go to a school thats really southern, but I llike preppiness and fratty people. (like at SMU)

Whats wrong with southern? And Elon has a large contigent from the northeast attending there. Its considered preppy. It has frats and sororities. Its got Div 1-A sports. And one of the highest percentages of students who study overseas. That is a big deal at Elon. They really push it. One of their graduates is now a managing partner of a firm in Hong Kong. Those kids work hard and get good jobs.
