I got the mail today and in it was a Scholarship America letter saying that my application hadn't won. I wasn't very surprised, my achievement wasn't that impressive, even for Alaska, though it was unique. Anyhow, thought others might want to know that the rejection letters, at least, came out.

i didnt win either

i got a nice rejection letter too...thought mine was ok for mississippi but maybe not

What are your achievements?... If you don't mind me asking.

nothing for me either - achievement- started a recycling program at my school

mine was overhauling the school newspaper-from 2 crappy issues a year to 8 award-winning ones which helped our school to win offices in the statewide organization as well

Yeah mine was breaking my leg my first time on skis (XC) and then coming back and learning training etc to be Captain of one of the largest teams in the city after one year. It took A LOT of work on my technique and strength - probably not what they were looking for though

It turns out the guy from AK who won got $25000 (goes to my school) - so I don't feel so bad

the other two apps from my school were piano performance and 1000 hrs com service

it was crazy because we only have 30 kids in class and 4 applied, one got it.

whoa, what were the odds?

anyways, I can't believe that I got rejected for this scholarship. I worked so hard on the application.
