<p>I'm a freshman and I'm going to be majoring in computer science. I applied for the B.E.S.T dorms because I heard they were beautiful and I like the idea of having a bathroom in my room. I got in, but now I'm not sure if I want to go. I'm worried it will be harder to make friends since it's so secluded. I'm also worried about the "type" of people who live in the dorms. Are all the people that live there the type of people who study all day and don't like to have fun? Are there any parties? I don't want to not make friends just so I can have a nice room. And since I'm a freshman, it's more important that I make friends right away. Does anyone live there or know someone that lives there that can give me some input on what it's like to live in the B.E.S.T hall?</p>
<p>From what I hear, it’s always different. I heard one of the big reasons why BEST is secluded is because the doors always lock so you can’t really have a great great relationship with your floor, filled with some upperclassmen too, a lot of hard core independent study-esque kids, and it’s suite style. But hey you get free wifi in all rooms, its new, and its got a computer lab.</p>
<p>Your other friends are always a walk away at the BAMM complex, and there’s always the gym and other classes that you can go and find friends. Not necessarily you find all your friends at your dorms, like in How I Met Your Mother. There’s always other place.</p>
<p>Rutgers is a big school. Smart kids, average kids, little below average… I’m sure you’ll find people. Plus there’s been a lot of threads like this recently, perhaps you guys can all meet and make BEST a little bit more social, or make some sort of clique…</p>
<p>If BEST has any study lounges on your floor, it might be good to study there. Maybe some other people from your floor will come out too.</p>
<p>honestly i have the same problem when i heard i was going to be assigned the best hall dorms. BUT i know i love to party AND i know i have to manage my studies as well. if i can’t find any party lovers at the dorms then imma try to branch out to others who are willing to party with me. its simple as that. you’ll get to meet all kinds of people at a big university such as rutgers and I’m sure you’ll run into some ppl who love to party and people who doesn’t like to party. its all about making yourself known and trying to make new friends. its all on you 
best halls has one of the best facilities anyways i mean it would be suck to leave it just so you can go to another dorm that you “assume” would have more ppl who party. you can always make friends at different dorms and call em out whenever you wanna have a good time anyways.
